DROID Charge owners are next in line to receive an upgrade for their phones, but this isn’t Ice Cream Sandwich. In fact, I wouldn’t count on Ice Cream Sandwich unless you’re using a custom ROM. No, this update bring the build to FP1 and the biggest change is the addition of the Verizon Remote Diagnostics app which will allow customer care representatives to better troubleshoot any problems you’re having with your device. We’ve got other bug fixes and minor app updates, but they’re not notable enough to list here. Just grab a peek at the image above. Oh, and try not to heckle whoever wrote the changelog up about using “Android Market” instead of “Google Play Store” on that second to last bullet point. [Verizon 1|2|3 via Android Police]
not going on my charge. i have more advanced software already.
I have unlim data and mhtspt and use my Charge and Galaxy Tab frequently as multimedia devices since i have 4G and no cable or home internet. I use OTA tv and stream lots of content via hdmi out, connect to home theater or Bose Soundlink aided by remote control of my Charge via tablet remote on my old OG driod (game control remote not working yet i need to work on it). The Charge has it’s short commings but its a good miltimedia device. I don’t need vz reps in my phone but I sure would love to stop the data loss when i put it in the multimedia dock. I have an upgrade soon and I’m getting the root itch. Bye bye bloatware..
When will this update be released?
