The iPhone 8 Plus has officially been announced, and we’re taking a look at how well the latest “big” iPhone stands up against the competition. This time around, we’re taking a look at the LG V30 to help you decide which option is better in the long run.
Unlike Android OEM’s, Apple is usually pretty hush, hush about the specs for its devices, save for the screen size, processor, and camera. However, we already know a bit about the 8 Plus, as the device features a 5.7-inch LCD display, compared to the 6-inch P-OLED panel found on the LG V30.
As for the rest of the specs, we know that the 8 Plus comes equipped with Apple’s new A11 Bionic processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The amount of RAM seems like something you would see out of a budget phone, but this may be more than enough compared to the 4GB of RAM coupled with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor found in the LG V30.
When it comes to the camera, the iPhone 8 Plus features dual 12MP sensors, which include 2X optical zoom and phase detection autofocus. Much like the iPhone, the LG V30 also features a dual camera system with a 16MP standard lens with laser & phase detection autofocus and a 13MP wide-angle sensor
Other than the cameras, the iPhone 8 Plus includes the ability to wirelessly charge via an inductive Qi charging pad. This is a welcome addition, and a feature that was also included on the LG V30 after the device saw a complete design overhaul compared to its predecessors.
